I write about Data Governance because I believe data problems are rarely just technical problems.
Behind every inconsistent report, unclear definition or repeated data quality issue, there is usually a deeper problem: missing ownership, weak control or a process that was never clearly defined.
My professional background connects finance, retail, reporting, data quality and governance. That mix shaped the way I think about data: not as something that belongs only to IT, but as a business asset that needs structure, responsibility and trust.
I have experience across financial services, alternative investments and retail, working with data processes, reporting structures, master data and governance controls.
Experience in structured data environments where accuracy, consistency and trust in information are critical.
Experience with operational and master data domains where data quality affects reporting, planning and analysis.
A practical interest in ownership, definitions, validation rules and the connection between business processes and data control.
